The amount of crap that bloggers get away with is unacceptable. The Web’s news consumers are being fed second-hand rumors, endless anonymous sources and complete fabrications. Many blogs are not trustworthy.
There’s nothing inherently wrong with blogging. It’s the bloggers who are taking advantage of their readers. It is a disservice to pass off half-truths and wish lists as fact.
We keep a running tally of all the risky calls and anonymously-sourced information that’s spewed on the top blogs. If they’re proven false, we resurface them and update the publication’s score. If they’re right, that blog earns cred. Credibull is counting.
